Biography :
Enlisted 15.2.1940. Served with Leicestershire Regiment during World War Two landing with the 1st Bn on the 3 July 1944 and fighting through Normandy, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was known as 'Jack' but preferred to called Amos, his middle name.
A was a founder member of the Leicester Branch of the Normandy Veteran's Association in 1987, his funeral had a guard of honour from the City's NVA of 18 men and the last post was sounded.
