Biography :
Enlisted at Ketton, Rutlandshire, 14.5.1913. Served with 1/5th Bn in World War One. Killed in action France and Flanders campaign 30.6.1915. He is buried at Sanctuary Wood Cemetery, Zillebeke, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. According to "Rutland and The Great War", compiled by G Phillips, Willie Capendale was killed by a piece of shell entering his neck.
