Biography :

Enlisted at Leicester, 2.9.1914. Served with 'A' Company 6th Battalion during World War One, entering France 29.7.1915. Wounded (gunshot wound, left thigh) in July 1916 and hospitalised in Epsom, Surrey for 56 days. Awarded the M.M. (see London Gazette 2.8.1918, p. 9248). Killed in action France and Flanders campaign 26.4.1918, aged 29. He is buried at Voormezeele Enclosures No.3, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
