Home address given as Oakham, Rutland. Enlishted in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Served with the 2nd Bn during World War One. Died of wounds in Mesopotamia 18.2.1917, aged 29. He is buried at Amara War Cemetery, Iraq. According to a private he was in training in Pentridge Camp, Staffs during the spring/summer 1916 and also served in Ireland.
