Educated at Oakham School, Arthur Marsh was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant 11.12.1908 in 5th Bn The Leicestershire Regiment. Promoted Lieutenant 10.8.1910. Sailed to France with 1/5th Bn February 1915. Wounded 1.7.1915 and hospitalised. Resigned on 2.12.1924. In World War Two he served as a Major with the Home Guard at Melton Mowbray and awarded the O.B.E. (L.G. 1.1.1942).
