Home address given as Nottinghamshire. Served with 2/5th Bn in World War Two. Died 16.1.1944, aged 26. He is buried in the Cassino War Cemetery, Italy.
Further info: Albert was married to Margaret Harrison Snowdon (daughter of George and Alice Snowdon, who lived at Croydon House on Richmond Road in Brompton-on-Swale, North Yorkshire). They married in 1942 at Easby church and also lived at Croydon House until Albert was deployed, sadly never to return. Albert himself was the son of Frederick and Maud Ethel Cleaver, of Stapleford, Nottinghamshire. His name is commemorated on the Brompton-on-Swale war memorial.
